Extended Description: 16 miles East of Atlanta on U.S. Highway 78. Scrub pines and moss and lichens cling to the slopes of the gray granite surface. The mountain was considered sacred by the Indians. Today a partially completed memorial to the Confederacy has been carved on the northeastern side.
